When is the Carlton Beach Hotel reopening?
The hotel is partially open as of February 1st, offering a place to dream by the beach, though dining options will remain closed until April 1st, when our restaurant reopens.

Our new open fire kitchen, seafood, and bar concept, Nomon, opens its doors on April 1st!

Will the Health Centre be open during the renovation?
Yes, the Health Center will remain open with modified opening hours. As our car park is currently a construction site, Health Center guests and members can park on the pavement in front of the hotel. More information about the Health Center can be found under Beach Body on our website!

Are dogs allowed in the hotel?
Though we love dogs, we’ve decided to keep things quieter for our guests, so dogs are no longer allowed in the hotel or restaurant.

What are the check-in and check-out times?
Rooms are available from 3:00 PM. If you arrive earlier, feel free to leave your luggage with us. Check-out is at 12:00 PM, but you can book a late check-out at reception to extend your stay by 3 hours for €30.

Reception is open 24/7. If you need anything, call ‘9’ from your room phone.

Can I cancel my booking?
If you booked directly with us, the cancellation policy depends on the rate you chose, as detailed in your booking confirmation. If you booked through a partner, please contact them for cancellation details.

What payment methods are accepted?
At reception, we accept debit (contactless), cash, and credit cards. If you don’t have a credit card during booking, you can pay via a payment link.

Do you offer gift cards?
Absolutely! Request a gift card at reservations@beach.carlton.nl, and we’ll send it by post.

What is the daily tourist tax per person?
In 2024, the tourist tax is €6.00 per person, per night. Residents of The Hague are exempt; just inform the reception.

Can I stay if I’m under 18?
Yes, if you provide written permission from your parents and a copy of each minor guest’s passport (if they are staying without an adult).

What is there to do in the area?
Scheveningen Boulevard is lively with cafes, shops, and attractions like SeaLife, Legoland, and The Pier. Enjoy hours of beach and dune walks, or visit The Hague city center. View our tips here.

I left something in my room. Can you send it back?
If you left an item in your room, we register it on iLost. You can create an account and claim your item, which we’ll send to you or hold for pickup. Find all items on our iLost page.
Using iLost: Search for your item using the search bar. If it’s listed, click ‘claim item,’ describe it, and we’ll help reunite you with it.

Dogs are no longer permitted in the hotel and restaurant to keep things calm for our guests.

Can I arrange something special for a birthday or celebration?
Yes! Reserve a Happy Birthday or Celebrate Love package through reservations@beach.carlton.nl, and we’ll decorate the room for the occasion.
Rooms

What amenities are included in the rooms?
All rooms feature a balcony with seating, minibar, seating area, coffee and tea facilities, TV, air conditioning, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, and safe.

Which room types have a bathtub?
All Beach Family and Beach Friends rooms have a bathtub, as do many of the Beach Comfort rooms (though not all). If you prefer a bathtub, let us know during booking, and we’ll do our best to accommodate.

Which rooms have a sea view?
The sea-facing rooms are: Beach Balcony Front Sea, Beach Comfort Front Sea, Beach Superior Front Sea, Beach Family Front Sea, and Beach Friends Front Sea.

How many people can stay in each room type?
We offer rooms for 1 to 6 people. You’ll find the exact capacity for each room on our website under each room description.

Can extra beds be added to the room?
Yes, it’s possible to add an extra bed to some of our rooms. If you’re interested, contact us to discuss the options.

Can we request connecting rooms?
We do not have connecting rooms, but we’ll do our best to book rooms close together for your group. Please request this when booking.

Are there baby cots available?
Yes, we can add a baby cot to your room free of charge. Just let us know when you book, and we’ll have it ready!
Parking and bikes

Is there parking available at the hotel?
Yes, limited on-site parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Parking costs €25 per day. If our lot is full, paid parking is available nearby, including "Het Zwarte Pad" and "Interparking Boulevard."

Are there electric car charging points?
Currently, we do not offer on-site charging stations. However, there are charging points available at the nearby Interparking Boulevard.

Is the hotel accessible by public transport?
Carlton Beach is easy to reach by public transport. Right next to the hotel is the "Zwarte Pad" stop, which is the final stop for buses 21 and 22. Additionally, trams 1 and 9 stop nearby.

Can I rent a bicycle or e-bike at the hotel?
Yes, you can rent both bicycles and e-bikes from our Health Center. We also offer child seats and children's bicycles (subject to availability). To reserve, contact the Health Center at healthcenter@beach.carlton.nl or +31 (0)70 354 62 62.

Does the hotel have a (covered) bike storage area?
The hotel has a bike storage area located next to the hotel’s parking lot. The bike storage is not covered and not secured.

Is the Health Center open to hotel guests?
Yes, our Health Center is available for hotel guests. Facilities include a heated pool, sauna, fitness center, and steam room. Access to the pool and fitness center is free for guests, while sauna access is available for a small additional fee.

What are the Health Center’s opening hours?
The Health Center is open:
Monday to Friday: 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM
Saturday and Sunday: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Do you need to book in advance to go to the Health Centre?
No, that is not necessary. You can walk in at your preferred time during opening hours.

Is swimwear allowed in the saunas?
Bathing suits are not allowed in all indoor saunas. In the outdoor sauna it is. We ask you to always bring a towel. If you do not have one, it can be rented at the counter for €2. A bathrobe can also be hired from the counter for €4. This is a one-off payment, the towel and bathrobe may be taken back to the room after use for subsequent use.
